When buying a slip collar for your dog it is best to measure their neck using a measuring tape. The measuring tape should be fitted to your dog’s neck however should not be tight. This will give you the minimum length of your new collar. As shown in the slip collar image there should always be around 2-3 inches of additional rope collar.So # of inches of your dog’s neck + 2-3 inches will give you the right slip collar length for your pet. If your pet is not a full growth adult you will need to take this into consideration as they may grow out of their slip collar quickly.
